account management system
RTL+ is one of the bigger streaming platforms in Germany. I worked in the discovery team on subscription packages and account management, with a specific focus on how the navigation and profile system worked across different account states.
Streaming subscriptions are hard to compare and family accounts get complicated fast. I worked on the offer page, the account navigation structure and the profile management system, building off existing user research RTL had already gathered.
Offer Page
RTL+ had four or five subscription tiers depending on the market, each with different content, device limits and features. The offer page was trying to show all of it. People couldn't tell what actually mattered for their decision.
I worked on the information architecture to surface the factors that actually drive the choice and ran A/B tests on different presentations. The finding: people focus on one or two things and ignore the rest. Most of the detail was noise. The redesign pulled back and let the key differences do the work.

Account Management
The account management system needed to handle a lot of different states: single users, multiple profiles, family accounts with a max package and a shared music profile on top. Three different navigation structures depending on what you have, all accessed from the same entry point.
I mapped each scenario and designed a navigation architecture that could flex across all of them without resorting to separate flows. The work was based on existing user feedback and studies RTL had already run. Testing was cut short before we could run more iterations, so the concept was handed over at a solid base rather than a finished system.

What Shipped
Offer page conversions went up. Support tickets about account setup went down. The account management concept was handed off, not fully launched.
